After 25 years standing in solidarity with community organizations in Central America, EcoViva will close in early 2022. And while EcoViva is standing aside, our partner organizations the Mangrove Association, Red COMAL, and AMBAS are stronger than ever in their commitment to continue their critical work in the region. EcoViva’s mission is to support our partners in the most equitable ways we can. We worked with our partners to create a sustainable path forward that included joining GlobalGiving, an international crowdfunding platform that makes it easy for you to continue your solidarity in a new way that honors their autonomy and transformational power. This paradigm shift ensures our partners have the resources and tools they need to shape their own agendas and make decisions that are in the best interests of their constituents.
We are filled with gratitude for everyone who has walked along with us on this journey. We are proud of how far our partners have come and we are so excited for what their futures hold. Each of these extraordinary organizations have more than two decades of experience creating positive change in their communities, and we trust and value their leadership and expertise to solve the challenges they will face. With your ongoing support, they will continue to grow and thrive and EcoViva’s legacy will endure. Join us by following the links below:

EcoViva's Closure
In 2020, EcoViva’s board and leadership entered an evaluation process to reflect on how our role has changed over our history, and at the same time, how our partners have grown their capacities and skills. We considered our core set of values including a commitment to sustainable, community-led solutions and found that there are ways we could more effectively support our partners, primarily through helping them access direct unrestricted financial support. After two years of planning, discussion and consultation with stakeholders, we came to the decision to dissolve the organization. As part of the transition, our partners joined GlobalGiving, making it easy for you to continue your solidarity in a new way that honors their autonomy and transformational power.
