El Salvador’s coastal villages and towns were severely damaged by massive waves this past weekend, a result of a large storm in the South Pacific. The waves were the largest and most powerful to hit the Salvadoran coast in decades. Homes and small family businesses along the coastline were destroyed or badly damaged by flooding and the impact of the waves. Many people cannot afford to rebuild their homes and businesses, or replace their belongings.
